With the change in leadership in the United States, it is a perfect time to discuss the Global Energy Outlook for the coming year. The world needs affordable, reliable and ever-cleaner energy. The crux of the challenge is finding the right balance without sacrificing any one for another. On November 12 we held a special session, The Global Energy Outlook Presented by Chevron. This candid dialogue focused on how COVID-19 has changed the energy outlook, the realities of the energy transition and new innovations that will change the future of energy and the entrepreneurial opportunities they offer.
We heard from Bruce Niemeyer, Corporate Vice President of Strategy & Sustainability for Chevron Corporation, who provided a future-oriented outlook on global energy to IWF members through this conversation moderated by Sandy Stash, IWF Global Board Director and member of IWF Canada, IWF Ghana and IWF UK. She is a former Executive Vice President of Safety, Operations and Engineering and External Affairs for Tullow Oil. In his role, Niemeyer is responsible for setting the strategic direction for Chevron, allocating capital and guiding company sustainability efforts. The session will look at topics like the future of energy, the impact of COVID-19 and the current energy inventory.
