Mojgan (Mo) Vakili is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Deloitte, based in Manhattan Beach, California, USA. She has 19 years’ experience working with clients in the financial services industry on some of their most complex projects. She began her career in the audit practice and has spent the last 15 years serving Deloitte’s relationship clients. Mo has assisted clients through initiatives to transform, scale and optimize their finance functions. She has worked with clients as they have acquired and integrated other companies, offered their securities in an IPO, transformed their businesses to operate in a public company environment, leveraged data to maximize insight from information, and executed on cost reduction to achieve operational efficiencies through automation. Mo also has extensive experience working on various complex areas of technical and operational accounting, including implementation and operationalization of new accounting standards and new regulatory requirements.
Mo has performed assessments of policies, procedures and practices for finance operations and has assisted companies in identifying operational efficiencies through the use of data analytics and automation. She has been involved in derivative valuation, and has experience helping clients with evaluating the adequacy and operational effectiveness of internal control procedures. She is often a speaker at industry conferences. Mo received her Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1999. She is a licensed CPA in the state of California and a member of the AICPA.
