Elsamarie D'Silva - India | Founder & CEO, Red Dot Foundation
ElsaMarie D’Silva is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Red Dot Foundation (India) and the President of Red Dot Foundation Global (USA) based in Mumbai, India. She is the innovator of the online platform Safecity, which crowdsources personal experiences of sexual violence and abuse in public spaces. Since its inception in 2012, it has become the largest crowdsourcing map on the issue in India, Kenya, Cameroon and Nepal. Her work has been recognized by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations through the Intercultural Innovation Award and the UN Foundation at the 2016 Solutions Summit. She has penned articles that have appeared in CNN, The Huffington Post and WIP, among others. She has spoken about her work at the 2019 Rotary International Assembly, Aspen Ideas Festival, TEDx MidAtlantic, UN Women, the U.S. State Department, and the Vital Voices South to South Leadership Summit. She has been a panelist for the World Bank, NDI, USIP and SheThePeople, and hosted a roundtable at the 2015 Bloomberg CityLab London. Prior to Safecity, ElsaMarie worked in the aviation industry for 20 years, where she worked with Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines. Her last portfolio was Vice President of Network Planning and Charters, where she oversaw the planning and implementation of 500 daily flights.
ElsaMarie is currently a 2019 Reagan Fascell Fellow, a 2018 Yale World Fellow and an alumna of the Stanford Draper Hills Summer School, the U.S. State Department’s Fortune Mentoring Program, Oxford Chevening Gurukul and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Leadership Program. She is also a Fellow with Rotary Peace, Aspen New Voices, Vital Voices and a BMW Foundation Responsible Leader. She is listed as one of BBC Hindi’s 100 Women and was awarded the Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Dusan Stojanovic (European Angel Investor of the Year 2013), Government of India Niti Aayog’s #WomenTransformingIndia award, and The Digital Woman Award in Social Impact by SheThePeople. In 2017, she was awarded the Global Leadership Award by Vital Voices in the presence of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. She is also the recipient of the Gold Stevie Award for “Female Executive of the Year-Government or Non-Profit-10 or Less Employees” in 2016.
Kiersten Barnet - IWF New York | Global Head, Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index
Kiersten Barnet is a recognized authority on gender equality in the workplace, boardroom diversity and socially responsible investing. During her 14-year tenure at Bloomberg, she traveled to over 30 countries across six continents and held leadership roles including Deputy Chief of Staff to the Chairman.
In her most recent role as Global Head of Bloomberg’s Gender-Equality Index, she was responsible for bringing unprecedented transparency to gender equality at hundreds of companies around the world, arming investors with comparable and reliable social data. Bloomberg’s gender reporting framework continues to be the only international standardized gender disclosure model, providing companies with a blueprint for measuring and reporting data related to their workforce, pay, products, supply chain and communities. The Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (BGEI) and Bloomberg Financial Services Gender-Equality Index (BFGEI), comprising companies with the highest level of data excellence and disclosure, have fortified the business case for equality by outperforming their respective comparable benchmarks.
Kiersten is the Co-Founder and Steering Chair of the U.S. 30% Club, a group of 75 chairmen and CEOs committed to gender balance at the senior management and board levels. She is a former Strategy Officer of the World Economic Forum and member of the World Economic Forum's Gender Parity Steering Committee. She sits on the Executive Women’s Council, a group of women primarily in executive and board-level positions at public and private companies. In 2019, she was honored at the She Runs it Changing the Game Awards for being a catalyst of innovation in her industry.
Kiersten holds a BS in Business Management from Washington and Lee University.
