Visiting IWF Canada Forum Members Hosted by IWF Hong Kong
|
|
On February 24, 2006 the Hong Kong Chapter hosted two visitors from IWF Canada, Diana Burke and Dr. Sarah McKinnon, who stopped over in Hong Kong on their way back from a holiday in Bali, Indonesia. Diana contacted the Hong
Kong Chapter President Paula DeLisle, prior to leaving Canada and it was determined that a lunch with some members there would be arranged. Paula arranged for past-president Betty Wei and five other members to attend. A bottle of Ontario Canada's world famous Ice Wine was presented to IWF Hong Kong. |

The Hong Kong members were very hospitable and the members shared information on their respective Chapter's events and initiatives, including plans for attending the IWF Madrid event in May and benefits received from these international events. |

The visiting IWF Canada members were also invited to an informative and fascinating lecture by Dr. Betty Wei that same evening for the Royal Asiatic Society on her biographic book about Liu Chin-Wen (1890-1957), a Revolutionary Chinese leader. Dr. Wei attended school in China with her daughters who commissioned her to write the book. The visitors also received complimentary signed copies of the book. |
