The Ireland Women's Forum hosts Leadership in the 21st Century: Challenges and Responsibilities
|
The Ireland Women's Forum in collaboration with the IWF hosted a dynamic regional meeting in Dublin on February 23-25, 2001. Organized by Karen Erwin and Audrey Conlon, the program featured intimate discussions with 35 participants from England, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, and the United States; a lunch at the Leinster House - home to Ireland's Parliament; a business meeting at Dublin Castle; a reception hosted by President Mary McAleese at her residence - the Aras An Uachtarain; and a night of drama and discussion at the Abbey Theatre.
IWF President Nominee Luz Lajous of Mexico and IWF Leadership Foundation President Fran Streets were on hand to offer insights about IWF's and the Leadership Foundation's work, scope and direction. Mary Harney TD, Tanaiste and Ireland's Minister of Enterprise and Employment set an enthusiastic tone for the meeting which focused on Leadership in the 21st Century: Challenges and Responsibilities.
The program provided a valuable model for IWF to replicate in other regions of the world - one of high caliber programming, accessibility, affordability, camaraderie, intimacy and clear value-added for IWF members.
